OVERVIEW
Express Entry was launched in Canada in January 2015. It is an online system which is used to manage the applications of permanent residency of skilled workers. Interested individuals are required to create a profile and submit necessary documents as mentioned in the application. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (“IRCC”) allots Comprehensive Ranking System (“CRS score”) to every candidate based on age, work experience, education and English and/or French proficiency test. Candidates from the Express Entry Pool are sent invitations to apply for Permanent Residency to Canada based on their CRS score and the CRS Score cut off. Express Entry draws are usually declared every two weeks on Wednesday, though IRCC has not set any schedule for these draws.
